Ranne Creative Interiors goes psycho at the Almeida Theatre
Ranne Creative Interiors, the specialist interior design and build company, is supporting London's Almeida Theatre as part of its corporate social responsibility activities. Ranne sponsored a single performance of the production of American Psycho on 9 January.
American Psycho, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, is a satirical commentary on capitalism featuring the anti-hero Patrick Bateman living the high life in 1980s Manhattan. Rupert Goold directed the musical adaptation to critical acclaim.
Ranne's decision to support the Almeida follows a project Ranne undertook for the theatre which involved refurbishing the company's rehearsal room, offices and Green Room. Ranne was responsible for design, project management, refurbishment, including M&E modifications, decoration and furniture.
Our typical project involves working with corporates so it was an exciting challenge to work with such a different type of organisation, said Roy Parrish, managing director of Ranne. Because we developed such a strong and enjoyable working relationship with the Almeida, we were keen to support their excellent work. Last year we sponsored a production of King Lear, Shakespeare's greatest tragedy, so we were delighted to be involved in supporting American Psycho. It has also been inspirational for some of our staff, who have never been to the theatre, to attend productions.
Ranne, which has achieved both the ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditations, takes its CSR responsibilities very seriously. In addition to green design and reductions in environmental impacts, the team engages with the local communities in which it works, donating funds and professional expertise to a variety of philanthropic and design industry organisations worldwide.
